Gambling can be a fun thing to do as a form of entertainment. Around the beginning of this year, we built a decentralized gambling application on the Pulsechain blockchain where users can play a game called Coinflip. You may be familiar with this classic game. Romans and Greeks played this game for many things, like settling arguments or deciding things. We built the application to expand the Voodoo ecosystem and give the community another use case for their Voodoo Tokens.
The application is 100% decentralized, which means it’s only you and the smart contract. There are no third parties involved. This guide covers everything you need to know to gamble with your Voodoo Tokens.
Requirements:
1/3 The first thing you need to check
Staking Voodoo Tokens is only possible on a desktop with a MetaMask extension installed. It does not matter which internet browser you use; it will work on Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc. Haven’t downloaded the MetaMask extension yet? Click here to go to the official MetaMask page to download the extension for your browser.
The MetaMask extension is a browser extension that you can use as a digital wallet to store crypto. MetaMask supports Voodoo Tokens, and adding them to your wallet is quick and really easy.
2. Once you have clicked on the Extensions icon, select MetaMask.
3. Then, select PulseChain as the network and enter your MetaMask password.
4. Click on ‘Import Tokens.’
5. Insert the Voodoo Token contract address under Contract Address 0x1c5f8e8E84AcC71650F7a627cfA5B24B80f44f00 (The rest will Metamask fill in automatically.) And then click on the blue button ‘Next’
6. Now click on the blue ‘Import,’ button.
7. Congratulations! You have successfully added Voodoo Tokens to your MetaMask wallet. You are now ready to gamble with them.
2/3 Gamble with your Voodoo Tokens
Once you have successfully added Voodoo Tokens to your MetaMask wallet, you are ready to gamble with them on the gambling platform.
Once you connect your wallet, the DApp will bring you to the main dashboard where you can make bets. As soon as you connect with the DApp, the amount of Voodoo Tokens you hold in your wallet will be displayed under “Current Balance.” Next to that, a black box will keep track of the number of tokens you have won.
2. There are a total of three coins you can gamble with:
Choose a token you like for making your bets.
3. Enter the bet amount you are going to play with. In this example, we are betting with 1,000 Voodoo Tokens.
4. You have a choice of 3 multiplier options. The first multiplier (x2) is the standard one, with a 47% chance of winning. When you win, your bet amount is doubled by 100%. The second multiplier (x3) offers a higher payout rate (200%), but the chance of winning is lower, at 25%. The last multiplier (x4) provides the highest payout rate (300%), with a reduced chance of winning at 12.5%
To make it more clear, let’s look at this example:
A user bets with 10,000 Voodoo Tokens. Here is what they will get by playing with different multipliers:
5. Choose either Heads or Tails.
6. Once you have made your decision, you are ready to play the game. Click on the gray “Start Game” button to begin. The metal coin in the middle will now spin really fast.
7. A MetaMask pop-up will open. Use your bet amount as a custom spending cap or click on “Max.” This allows the smart contract used by the application to spend your tokens from your current balance. After you have clicked on “Max,” you can click on the blue “Next” button.
8. Click now on the blue “Approve” button.
9. Now select your gas fees. After you have done this, your transaction will be confirmed on the PulseChain blockchain. Once it is confirmed, you will find out if you have won or lost.
10. Keep an eye on the top right corner of your computer; here you will see the final message that tells you if you have won or lost.
Unfortunately, it landed on tails and we bet on heads. We have now lost 1,000 Voodoo Tokens. These tokens will be stored in the smart contract, allowing other players to potentially win this lost amount. This feature makes refilling by third parties unnecessary, enhancing the decentralization of the DApp!
3/3 Want to recheck the transaction details on the PulseChain blockchain?
2. Click on the blue text “View on Block Explorer.”
3. A PulseChain blockchain explorer will open, where you can see all the transaction details from when you were waiting for the game to start. In the screenshot below, you will see your bet amount (1,000 Voodoo Tokens), Transaction Hash, Nonce, and the amount of gas fees you paid for the transaction. The gas fees were 3.40630245405274137. Calculated in USD, this amounted to $0.0002. So, it’s safe to say that gambling with Voodoo Tokens is extremely cheap.
The final word
Now you know how to use your Voodoo Tokens, Magic Reward Tokens, or Poison Reward Tokens in the gamble application .Using the DApp can be a really fun experience, but be aware that it can be addictive. Gambling is only for individuals aged 18 or above. Play responsibly and do not play under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Good luck!
